Dua al-ʿAhd - Multi Language (Smart-pen)

In the Name of God, the All-Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Peace be upon you, O Aba Abdillah (a)
Peace be upon you, O Aba Saleh al-Mahdi (a)

Duʿaʾ al-ʿAhd (Arabic:دعاء العهد) is a supplication narrated from Imam al-Sadiq (a) and there, re-allegiance with Imam al-Mahdi (a) and praying for his return are mentioned. Recitation of this supplication during the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi (a) has been greatly emphasized. It is said that anyone who recites this supplication forty successive mornings will be among the companions of Imam al-Mahdi (a).

Imam al-Sadiq (a) said, “anyone, who recites this supplication in forty [successive] mornings, will be among the companions of the Upriser (a) and if he dies before Imam’s (a) reappearance, God Almighty will resurrect him to fight for Imam (a), and for every word of the supplication, a thousand rewards will be recorded for him and a thousand bad deeds of his profile will be wiped out.”

Its Messages

Du’a al-‘Ahd includes special greetings of the reciter of supplication and also all male and female believers all around the world and the reciter’s parents to Imam al-Mahdi (a). Then, the covenant and allegiance with Imam (a) is renewed and keeping it until the Day of Judgment is mentioned. Then, the reciter asks God that, “if my death comes while Imam (a) has not returned yet, take me out of the grave and grant me the opportunity to help him.” Then, the request for meeting Imam (a) has been mentioned in a fine way. Supplicating for hastening the return of Imam (a), establishment of the rightful government and order in the world and revival of the truths of religion and believers are the ending of this supplication.
