Adhan finished but there was no news of the Prophet (a). Bilal became so worried, because the Prophet (a) always went to the mosque on time. Bilal went toward the Prophet’s (a) house; but, he saw something strange in an alley. The Prophet (a) had bent and children got on his back one by one.
Bilal was surprised of seeing this scene, so, angrily told the children, “Leave the Prophet (a) and go!”
The Prophet (a) became so upset and told Bilal, “No! Let them play!”
While playing with kids, the Prophet (a) told Bilal, “I was on the way to the mosque that these children asked me, ‘play with us the way you play with Hasan (a) and Husayn (a)!’ So, you have to buy me from them!”
Bilal who was astonished by the Prophet’s (a) mercy, told the children, “How much do you sell the Prophet (a)?” One of the children said, “in return for walnuts!” Bilal said, “is two walnuts alright?” Children said, “no, that’s very little! Ten walnuts!” Bilal swiftly went home, brought ten walnuts and gave to the children while the Prophet (a) was still playing with the children; and freed the Prophet (a)!
On the way to the mosque, Bilal told the Prophet (a), “these children do not know whom they sold for ten walnuts?!”
We, the people of the world, should be careful not to sell the Prophet (a) and his Ahl al-Bayt (a) for little wealth of the world (because it does not last) and they (a) are Imams (a) and proofs of God in this world upon the creation.
Believing in One God and the honorable Prophet (a) of Islam and the Ahl al-Bayt (a) or Imams (a) rescues us in the Hereafter and they are our intercessors in the Hereafter before God so that for their blessing, God takes us to His eternal paradise.
This was a beautiful life conduct regarding the honorable Prophet’s (a) respect for children.
