Imam al-Sadiq’s (a) Beautiful Encounter with his Servant

Once, Imam al-Sadiq (a) sent his servant for a task, but he was late. Imam (a) went for that task himself. In the middle of the way, Imam (a) saw the servant sleeping, while his face was full of sweat due to hot weather.

Imam al-Sadiq (a) sat and began fanning him. The servant was embarrassed when he woke up and saw Imam (a) sitting beside him.

Imam al-Sadiq (a) told him kindly, “you’d better sleep at nights and work during the day.”
