Who are the signs and stars with which we find the way in the dark night in the Holy Qur’an?

In the Holy Qur’an, in Surah Nahl, verse 16, it says:
وَ عَلاماتٍ وَ بِالنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ [16]

and [also] placed signs; And they find [their way] [at night] by means of the stars.

From the appearance of the verse, it can be understood that when a person loses his way in the dark night in the desert, he finds his way by looking at the stars in the sky and on the ground, which are the mountains and slopes of the earth, the color of the soil, roads, and baskets.

In fact, stars and signs guide and save people

Since man is lost and confused at night due to the lack of light and lack of clarity in the environment and during the day due to the lack of signs and cannot find the right path, in fact, the example of this misdirection is the deviant sects created by false claimants all over the earth.
Today, the number of these differences reaches 26,000 in the world, and they cause confusion and lack of clarity on the right and straight path.

To get rid of this error and difference that may lead to deviation, we must look at the stars and signs to find the right way.

But who are these signs and stars that show the way of guidance?

To clarify the issue, we refer to some narrations

Abu Makhald Hannat says: I asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him): “What is the meaning of the verse:

Va alamate va bennajme hom yahtadoun?

He said: “The Najm (star) is Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and Alamat (signs) are his guardians and successors.” (1)

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) also said:

The meaning of Najm (star) is the Messenger of God (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and the meaning of Alamat (signs) are the infallible imams (peace be upon them). (2)

And in another narration, Vasha says: I asked Imam Reza (peace be upon him) about the verse: Va alamaten va belnnajme hom yahtadoon, he said:

“We are the signs, and the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) is a star.” (3)

From the above narration, it can be understood that the signs and stars that guide people are the Ahl al-Bayt

who lead people to the right path and the house of salvation, which in this world is a beautiful lifestyle based on monotheism and morals, and in the hereafter is the eternal paradise

Since a person is safe in this world and in the hereafter after being guided, then Ahl al-Bayt is the source of people’s security in both worlds.

In this context, there is a narration from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that says:

God has made the stars a source of security and shelter for the people of sky and Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) a source of security and protection and shelter for the people of the earth. (4)

Of course, in other traditions, Ahl al-Bayt (12 Imams) are also compared to the moon and stars

In this regard, there is a narration from Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) who said – We (Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him)) are star. (5)

In the end, it should be mentioned that nowadays that burning and living star is Imam Mahdi, through whom we find the way.
