Ammar Yasir says: I and Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (peace be upon him) were in the Grand Mosque of Kufa, there was no one in the mosque but us, suddenly I saw Amir al-Mominin (peace be upon him) saying: Confirm him, confirm him!
I looked to the right and left, I didn’t see anyone, I was surprised, Hazrat said: Oh Ammar, you must be saying to yourself, who is Ali talking to?
I said: Yes,
He said: Raise your head. When I raised my head, I saw a pair of pigeons talking to each other. The Prophet said: O Ammar, do you know what they are saying? I said: No, O Commander of the Faithful. He said: A female pigeon says to a male pigeon: Have you taken another wife and left me?
The male pigeon swears that I did not do that, but the female pigeon does not accept, the male pigeon said: I swear by this person (Imam Ali (AS)) who is in front of us, I did not take another wife! That woman wanted to deny him, (I said that) acknowledge him, acknowledge him.
Ammar said: O Commander of the Faithful, I did not know that anyone except Suleiman bin Dawood knew the speech of birds. The Prophet said: O Ammar, Suleiman bin Dawood, out of respect for us Ahl al-Bayt, asked God to understand the logic (language) of birds. and became aware (1).
In another narration, Imam Sadiq (peace be upon her) said: We know the speech of a bird, just as Sulaiman bin Dawood knew, and we know the speech of every living thing in water and on land (2).
