If someone is by the sea and dips his finger in the sea, how much moisture will sit on his finger?
What is the ratio of the humidity of the finger to the whole sea?
Comparing between this world and the hereafter is like comparing the moisture of a finger to all the water in the sea
In this context, we refer to a narrative
The Holy Prophet says:
This world compared to the Hereafter is like one of you dipping your fingers into the sea and seeing how much water it takes up.
The Holy Quran also says about this
أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ ﴿٣٨﴾
Are you satisfied with the life of this world instead of the hereafter? The goods of life in this world are nothing compared to the hereafter. (38)2)
In the narration and the above verse, it can be concluded that if someone sells the hereafter to a small and insignificant world, what a great loss he has suffered.
