Generous hands!

Generous hands!

Imam Husayn (a) was performing prayer when a poor man came to his house and loudly asked for help.

Imam Husayn (a) finished his prayer quickly and went to him. When Imam (a) saw that he is poor, he asked the people of his house:

“How much money is left in the house?”

They replied:

“There is two hundred dirhams left that you had said to be distributed among your relatives.”

Imam Husayn (a) said:

“Bring all of that; someone has come here who deserves it more than my relatives.”

Imam Husayn (a) gave those two hundred dirhams to the poor man and said:

“Take these coins from me. I am sorry, it is little. If I had more, I would give you more, but you should know that I like you.”

The poor man cried hard.

Imam Husayn (a) asked him:

“Are you crying because what I gave you is little?”

The man said:

“No! I am crying because of how could these generous hands be buried(meaning that if so, we would be deprived of your blessings).”
