Abdi Koofi says: My wife told me: “I have been deprived of the service of Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him. If I had gone to Hajj and served him, it would have been a great blessing.”
I said to him: “I swear to God that I have no money in my hand(I don’t have money).”
He said: “I have some jewelry and a lot of clothes, take them and sell them.”.
So I sold them and prepared the travel stuff and we left. When we reached Madinah, he fell ill and the day we entered Madinah, he was close to death.
I bought a house and left my wife there and went to the service of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him). When I said hello, he asked how she was.
I said: “He was dying when I came to you, and he may be dead now.”
Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) pondered and said, “Are you upset because of this?” I said: “Yes, son of the Messenger of God.”
Hazrat said: “Don’t worry! Almighty God healed him.”
So I returned home and saw that he was sitting safe and sound. I said to her: “What happened to you?”
She said: “When you left, it was time for me to die, when suddenly someone came and asked me:” How are you? “
I said: “Look, the angel of death has come to claim my soul.”
He said: “O angel of death!”
In response to him, angel of death said: “Labbayk, O my Imam!”
He said: ” Almighty God command you to obey us?”
angel of death said: “Yes! It is so.”
He said: “Then I order you to give her another twenty years.”
Malik Alamut(angel of death) said: “I heard and I am obedient.”
Then they both left my presence, and that person was wearing two robes and a turban with such and such characteristics.”
And she explained the signs of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon her) at that time when I was in her service.
So I told him about my story with Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) and the conversations of that Imam, and it turned out that at that moment when the Imam meditated and then said that God Almighty healed her, he was talking to the angel of death. [1]
