– Abu Hashem says: One day, Imam Hasan Askari- 7- rode and went to the desert. I also rode with him.
He was going ahead and I was behind him. Suddenly, my debts came to my mind and I thought about how I should pay them now that the time has come.
Then Imam-7 noticed me and said: Abu Hashem! God will pay your debt. Then he bent to one side from the horse’s saddle and drew a line on the ground with his whip and said: dismount, pick it up and hide it.
So I got out and saw that it was a gold bar. I took it and put it in my shoe and we started walking.
I thought again if I can pay all my debt with this, and if I can’t pay all of my debt and it isn’t enough, I should tell the creditor to be satisfied with this amount.
And then I thought about the cost of clothes and food for the winter and how to prepare it.
Imam-7 noticed me again. And he turned his attention to the ground again and, like the first time, he drew a line on it and said: Get down and pick it up and don’t tell anyone.
The narrator says: I walked and saw that it was a silver ingot, so I took it and put it in my other shoe. We continued walking for a while and then came back.
And Imam-7- went to his house and I also came to my house. I sat down and counted my debts and then weighed the gold, which was equal to my debt, neither less nor more.
Then we calculated the needs of the winter, what things I should prepare that would not be wasteful or difficult.
The silver was the same. I went and paid my debt and bought what I needed, neither too much nor too little [1].
