Many historians have given:
Imam Hasan Asgari, peace be upon him, quoted from his honorable fathers, about Hazrat Ali bin Musa al-Reza, peace be upon him, who said:
One day, Sa’sa’at bin Sohan Abdi, one of the companions of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, was ill and was on a bed.
Amir al-Mu’minin Ali, peace be upon him, along with some of his friends and companions, went to his house to visit Sa’sa’a.
After they entered the house and sat down, greeted and comforted the sick person, Sa’asa’a was very happy.
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said to him: O Saasa! Do not brag to your friends that I and my friends have come to meet you. (meaning don’t be proud)
After that, he ordered one of his companions to bring the stone that was on the side of the room to the Prophet.
When the Imam, peace be upon him, took the stone in his blessed hand, he turned it in his hand; Suddenly it turned into a pear, then he gave it to one of the members of the assembly and said: Cut this pear into pieces according to the number of people and give each one a piece to eat.
And Hazrat Ali himself took a piece of that pear and turned it in his blessed hand until it turned into a perfect apple, then he handed the apple to the same person before and said:
Divide it among the number of people and give each of them a share to eat, and Imam Ali himself took a piece of that apple.
Everyone ate their share of apples and pears, except for Hazrat, who turned that piece of apple in his blessed hand until it became the same stone and put it in its place.
Imam Reza (peace be upon her) added: When Sa’sa’ah ate those two pieces of pear and apple, his illness and discomfort disappeared and he completely recovered, and after that he got up and sat down and said:
O Commander of the Faithful(Amir al momeneen)! You healed me and increased the faith and belief of me and my friends, so God’s peace and blessings be upon you. (1) (2) (3) (4)
